Another day, another dope offering from South Africa’s rich pool of deep house talent. This time it’s the experienced Johannesburg-based DJ, remixer and producer Tobetsa Lamola, who makes his debut on Deep Inspiration Show Records with the ear-catching EP "Journey Into Sun". It’s an accomplished three-track release showcasing not only his natural ability but also the musical know-how picked up during ten years as a recording artist. From the beauteous melancholia of well-titled opener Into The Deep through to the understated groove of Bad Night Out and hypnotic melody of Walking On Sunshine, it’s a most-welcome addition to the DISR fold.
ARMED with a beauteous haunting vocal, dusty dive-bar groove and what Buzzin’ Fly once termed ‘the sad piano’, Roberto Bronco makes a very welcome return to Deep Inspiration Show Records following the release of his label debut album, the soul-warming Lost Souls. By comparison Hang Loose is a mere snapshot, albeit a sublime one, of the man’s undoubted talents and with a fine balance of melancholy versus euphoria, jazz versus deep house, retro versus future and much more besides, it’s a blissful, chilled-out ten-minute journey that’s over all too soon.

So feast your ears on Mzansi Keeps It Real Volume 1. It’s a four-track EP featuring some of the brightest and best producers and sounds from the region’s underground scene including Vetja Lavita’s anthemic instrumental SIY7 given a sprinkling of magic by the mastering skills of Sven Weisemann, Gary Hattenberger’s joyous Cotton Breeze and Khutso Chuma’s spiritually-uplifting Tša Ga-Modjadji. The release also welcomes back Maddquest, who made his production debut on DISR at the end of last year, with the seductive Humbled Soul.
You might know that Deep Inspiration Show Records is about talent and not about big names. Maddquest sent us many tracks when we were looking for new music. He never released any music which is hard to believe because he delivered a lot of good tracks and we are still not sure which one will be on the next vinyl. This track we would like to give away as a Christmas gift. Please support the young talent from Vosloorus, Johannesburg and spread the word about it. He is just 23 years and I'm sure that we will hear a lot more from him in the future. We wish you a nice festive season. Jazzman from Bielefeld Germany started the label in 2016. The record label was inspired by over 6 years and about 350 released episodes on the Deep Inspiration Show. The vision is to release two compilations twice a year titled “Various Inspirations”. These compilations will feature artists from across the globe who are connected with the show. In addition to the compilation, there will be numerous EPs released. The record label will seek to mirror the show by releasing music that is similar to the one showcased on the Deep Inspiration Show.
